"Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen."
One of the easiest ways to grow as an entrepreneur is to expose yourself to new people and experiences. I'm not talking about just navigating domestically, but spreading your wings and soaring internationally. So here is a quick list of 5 reasons you need to travel.
1. Opportunity: I put this as number one because it's probably the most important reason for traveling. If you don't expose yourself to the world, then you will never know what is out there for you. Opportunity can only be seized, so go search for that next big thing.
2. People: Life is all about connections. The people you meet and the relationships you foster will help you grow in your entrepreneurial endeavors later on down the road. Everyone is skilled at something, and that will become useful for you in business.
3. Location: Maybe you'll stumble across a beautiful location with property just waiting to be invested in. Perhaps you'll find your target audience or a new market for your product or service. We all know that location is everything, so why not see more of them?
4. Discovery: Like opportunity, you need to travel if you want to discover something new and exciting. Sometimes the best things in life can only be found when you go looking for them, or perhaps you'll stumble upon it. You'll never strike Gold if you never go digging.
5. Perspective: Get out of your bubble! The world is huge and you likely know nothing about it. Television and post cards can't portray what it's actually like to live and socialize internationally. People, cultures, traditions, beliefs, and even habits vary drastically all over the world. To be a better entrepreneur, you need better perspective on the world and how it works.
