For some of us, starting the day off right is not an easy task. Even if you're an early riser, you are probably looking for ways to improve your morning routine. Here are 10 simple ways to help you get out of bed and start being productive.
As soon as you crawl out of bed, you need to get your blood flowing. Engaging your muscles and getting oxygen to your brain will help you feel more awake.
2. Eat Protein
If you could consume one thing before rushing out the door to start your day, it should be protein rich. You need to give your body the fuel it needs to get moving. A couple organic eggs or a protein shake would be a great addition to your morning meal.
3. Start your morning the night before
Organize your work, pick out your clothes, and wash the dishes. Help make your morning efficient and eliminate the hassle.
Like stretching, getting blood flow is essential to fully waking up and getting your mind ready for the day. Sweating out toxins and getting focused on the treadmill for 20 minutes will have you feeling empowered.
Open up your blinds and light up your room. This will help you transition from your sleeping state of mind to an active one.
6. Don't hit snooze
This one is obvious. Each time you hit snooze, you are risking oversleeping. It also hurts your sleep cycle. Just don't hit that button! Get up and be productive!
7. Drink water
Most all of us get that dry mouth feeling in the morning. You get dehydrated after a long night of sleep. Put a water bottle next to your bed and chug away as soon as you awake. You should also drink some water before you go to sleep. That urge to use the bathroom in the morning will help you wake up.
8. Wake up to music
You need to start your day with positive energy. Pick your favorite song and set it as your alarm. You could also play some ambient sounds like an ocean or rain forest. Pick something that makes you smile in the morning and gets you excited for the day.
9. Get on your iPhone
Spend 5 minutes playing with your smartphone or laptop in the morning. Playing a game, looking at your emails, or checking ESPN will mentally stimulate your brain and get you going.
10. Matcha Green Tea
Coffee is great. It has caffeine and that little kick that we all love. Straight coffee can even be good for your cardiovascular system in moderate amounts. However, drinking some organic matcha green tea might be the healthier option. It has anti-aging properties, lowers cholesterol, aids in weight loss, detoxifies the body, and contains L-theanine. L-theanine helps induce alpha waves in the brain, which relieves stress, promotes relaxation, and can even lower blood pressure. Matcha is a fantastic alternative to your morning coffee.
Applying any of the above tricks will help you see an immediate improvement in your early morning routine.
